TICKET ARCHIVE -> Adding MP3s to iTunes

I just got my MacBook Pro and I'm now using iTunes 6.

I'm adding all my mp3 files into iTunes and some of them just won't load either by double clicking the file or by dragging the file onto the iTunes window. These files play fine on my mp3 player so why doesn't iTunes accept them?

Also, is there any free MP3 converter for the Mac?

Best Regards
Diane

Hi Diane and welcome to macosx.com

(1) about MP3s which do not want to go to iTunes
If you make File/Add to the Library (or appple-o) then browse to select the file ?
This tip works for me when some MP3s (most of them coming from the Windows side) refuses to got to the library.

(2)about MP3 converter/player, you can find some here:
http://www.pure-mac.com/mp3.html
http://www.pure-mac.com/audio.html
Well, not sure at all they are Intel ready, but they are not too big -for instance macAmp Lite-, so Rosetta will not pump too much on the system to launch them.

Philippe
