I have a Quicksilver G4 (pre 2002) and need to upgrade its RAM currently at 256MB. I also have a Quicksilver G4 2002 which has 768MB of RAM. The question is can I take out some RAM from the newer machine and put it in the older? I only ask because the old G4 takes PC133-333 and the newer G4 takes PC2600U-25330.

Quicksilver model G4s all take PC-133, so you would be OK in swapping some memory. BUT, you said that the newer one takes DDR (PC2100 or PC2700), so that will be a Mirror Drive Door model. The Quicksilvers all look alike, but the Mirror Door model has a front panel of Chrome-plated plastic, and with the 4 openings toward the bottom of the front panel, looks quite different from the Quicksilver models. - And you can't swap the memory.

Thanks, I shall just have to persuade the boss to buy some new RAM.
As I'm updating all the systems I have another question for you... I'm trying to install Illustrator 10 on to the old Quicksilver G4 running on OS 10.4.4 BUT when I click on the install icon it says its a stuffed file and won't install???? Is this another OS Tiger problem?

Not a 'Tiger' problem, but Tiger does not install the Stuffit software. That can be downloaded through this link.

Install that, and you will be able to unstuff that installer.
