At the time I purchased my Mac (OS 10.4.7) I knew I had the option of switching between Mac and Windows OS – I did not chose to add windows OS at the time of purchase.

I’m now finding it would be much more convenient to be able to run some windows sw on my Mac rather than having to drag my laptop home from the office daily (yes, I’m that lazy).

I’m trying to figure out what my best option is and if there is a difference between adding the windows OS and switching back and forth or using Virtual PC on my Mac. Is one a better option than the other?

Thanks for your help!!!
Kathy

Hi Kathy

VirtualPC won't run on your Mac if it's the newer Intel Mac.

You can use either Apple's BootCamp to install WindowsXPSP2 on your Mac and be able to boot into Windows when you need it;

A better way is not free, Parallels Desktop;

With Parallels, you can have both the Mac OSX System running and the Windows (any version) System running at the same time without rebooting.

Thank you Bob, for the advise and the ultra quick response.

I like the idea of being able to switch back and forth without having to log out. I'm going to look ingo parallels immediately.

Thank you again!!!
Kathy
