I Know that there is no official way to open InDesign CS2 files in .indd format in InDesign CS, you have to use CS2 to convert them to .inx files, is there an unofficial non adobe way to just directly or even indirectly open InDesign CS2 .indd files in InDesign CS?

Howdy!

I've seen this happen with Illustrator CS2 files as well. I can't open them with Illustrator CS…well, I can, just not with much success.

Try opening the file in InDesign and hopefully it will just give you an error saying it can't then hit okay and it will open the file. Otherwise, you might have to download a demo copy of CS2 from adobe's website in order to convert the file.

Not sure if the demo download will allow you to save (this function is usually blocked in demo versions of software, but maybe you can get lucky here) but it's worth a shot.

I've never tried it but I wonder if you could drag the file to your distiller and try to make a pdf out of it? Do you need to be able to edit and produce this CS2 document as a design project?
