I just got a new mac 15 inch powerbook for Christmas and I downloaded AOL Instant messenger on it (Version 4.7). And after talking on it for a while it unexpectedly signed me off. At first I thought it was a one time thing but it kept happening and continues to happen. It just says that AIM quit unexpectedly. Please let me know if you have any idea of what is happening. If this helps you one of my friends has a mac powerbook 12 inch and it does that same thing. please contact me back.

AIM seems to be a dead product now. Much better chat client, which is compatible with AIM is Adium

Also, Fire is a good chat

Have you tried iChat, already on your PowerBook?

All three of these will work with AIM accounts.
