I have a desktop G5 and SBC DSL. I have successfully added the Airport extreme card and can access the internet from my powerbook. I CAN'T access email, however, either my SBC account or my AOL account. I can't even get to the screen where you enter your email. I think it must be a simple setting somewhere, but I can't figure it out. I've read about changing the modem to bridge mode...is this necessary if I'm able to access the internet (just not email)? Thanks for any help. Chris
It sounds like a problem with accessing secure pages, but I don't know what preference to change. Telling us what version of Mac OS X you're running will help the tech who is able to lead you to a solution.

I'm running 10.3.9 on the desktop (which I can read mail on) and 10.4.11 on the laptop (which can't access mail).

You're right...it's a problem with secure pages. I was unable to login to the apple site and I couldn't register new software online.
