I use a wireless router to connect my G4 powerbook to the internet. However, it is now not working. The PC I have is working fine.
The airport icon says it has a strong signal, and can pick up the name of the router. However I cannot connect to the internet at all.
I can access the internet if I use an ethernet plug from the router to my laptop (ie not wireless).
Any suggestions what could be wrong? Or how I could work out if it is a software or hardware issue?
Cheers
PS. I am not computer savvy, so could be something simple (fingers crossed!)

What is the router (Airport, Linksys)?
If it is Airport, you have Airport Admin & assistant in the Application folder. These programs can help you set up your network, and configure the necessary settings. I can will try to help you. First, tell me what brand of Router you are using?

I am not sure about anything other than Airport. I will re-pool your questions. Sorry I could not be of more help.

Are you using WEP or WPA on the wireless router?
If you reboot the router (power off/on) does you Mac successfully get to the Internet?
What is the speed of the Airport in your G4? 802.11b or g? (11 or 54 Mbps)
What is the speed of the wifi adapter in the PC?
What is the model of the Belkin router?
