I restored my hard drive with restrspect 6 and now I have folder alaises on my hard drive. I've tried deleting them but when I
do the system won't boot up I was wondering why they are there
I've never had this happen before.

Where do they lead? What are the originals associated with them?

Those are symbolic links (like aliases, but more directly connected to the originals) and they are necessary. However, they are supposed to be invisible on the current startup disk. Looks like Retrospect didn't restore them properly. Have you tried repairing permissions?
