Description:
I have AMI Bios Ver 1.13 and I have a question about the HDD Power Down Mode in the power savings list in the Set-Up utility.

The HDD Power Down Mode has 3 settings Suspend, Disable, Standby.

What does Suspend and Standby do in the power down mode?

What I want it to do is when the system goes in the power down mode I want the HDD to power down also do I select Suspend or Standby?

Thanks

i have that bios on my grandson machine. i had it on standby it let the drive stay ready . by that i mean it was set so when i clicked keyboard key there was no waiting for the drive to caught up to the keystroke. just change one setting at a time like i did, to learn about each setting in there. also you can make a copy of your bios on a 3.5" disc. go to intel.com & read about flashing your bios & copy the default seting to a 3.5"disc or the setting you have on it now to a 3.5" disc. here is a place to start at intel.com
http://www.intel.com/overdrive/upgrade/bios/index.htm give it a try.
