TICKET ARCHIVE -> Any Workarounds For Installing Software That Requires a Higher Screeen Reso Than 12" Ibooks Have?

Hi-

I just got a new-to-me G3 ibook (10.2.8), and went to install Windows for Mac 2004. I can't get beyond the first installer screen. No error message or anything.

After much poking around, it seems that Mac for Windows 2004 (and some other software) require a higher screen resolution than my graphite ibook can muster (mine goes to 800 something, and it needs 1024 something).

This seems like a ridiculous roadblock. Any ideas of how to get it to work?

Thanks

I would say - No, you can't get around that limitation. Office 2004 requires more screen space than older versions.
Maybe you can locate Office v.X (which is the previous version). That version can work with your 800x600 display.
AppleWorks will work well on your iBook.
If you require Office compatibility, then here's something that you could try - http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/22021
And - it's free!

Hope this helps you...

Thanks Dale! I appreciate your help. I'll stop trying to get it to work.
