Dear Rob:
Welcome To Nowonder!

I am not quite sure why your modem is dialing out slow, however ther may
be a few reasons for the difference in indicated connection speeds.

- Make sure that your 56K modem is setup within AOL to connect at 56K
- Doublecheck the phone # you are connecting to, to make sure it's
a 56K number. If not connect to AOL's 800 number and select a 56K
number from the list.

If you are connecting to AOL through a dialup networking connection make
sure it is setup to connect at 56K and you modem is setup to do so as well.

I hope this helps.
