The company I work for has paid for a website/app to be built recently and I am the one to correct/maintain it.
The existing (live) platform is Linux/Apache/Tomcat/MySQL. I also have a local copy running on a Windows XP system, but want to set it up on my G5 running OS 10.3.9.
I have installed Apache 2, MySQL 4, and Tomcat 5.0.28; all of which are running. I don't know where to go from there. How do I get them to talk to each other; and then, to get the web-app (Java) running? I don't need to serve to the web from the local installation, just to the LAN for testing.
This may be too complex for online help but figured I'd give it a try. I'm not a Unix/Server guy, just a designer with enough knowledge to get buy in these areas. I have gotten familiar with the terminal in the past few days, but don't know the syntax, and just go by online examples. Most of the online examples go way over my head, though.
Any Help would be greatly appreciated!
Hi,
if you don't want to go into technical detail, download the following package which includes a Mac-LAMP (MAMP:-) that launches from scratch and doesn't touch your system:
http://www.mamp.info/en/home/
Hope, that helps
