Hi
I've been having a problem with my Imac,
Ever since i accidently downloaded a 10.4.3 mac osx and upgraded with it.
I didnt realize that the new Imac G5 comes with the 10.4.3 upgrade
The upgrade Process did not complete and i thought everything was fine.
When i restarted my computer, it gets stuck at the Grey Screen with the APple Logo and the progress pin wheel.
The pin wheel Spins but it just keeps spinning and doesnt go past the Grey Screen
Can someone Please help, Im hopping to fix this without losing my files.
If you look at your restore DVD, you will see what OS X version shipped with your iMac. I think you will find it is 10.4.2
No system ships with 10.4.3, AFAIK.
Put that DVD in your drive, and restart holding the letter C
Start the install process by clicking continue. When you get to the screen to select the install destination, click on the Options button, and choose the Archive & Install option, which will also keep your network settings and other preferences. You won't lose any files, unless you choose to 'Erase' the drive!
Go ahead with the reinstall process.
When this is complete, and your system has restarted, try again to upgrade to 10.4.3 (it's recommended for all users.)
Let me know how it goes...
