Hi,
Am trying to use ARD to admin my son's account on our family imac from my G5 upstairs. While trying to connect to view his screen running 10.3 I get a "connection failed" error. Client is turned on, firewall is off, and I have the latest ADR 2.2 admin. I can share my G5 screen with him but I cannot control or see his screen. Router is Netgear RP614v2. G5 is running Tiger-latest update. Messenger from iMac works G5. I'm pulling out what little is left of my hair. Any help would be appreciated.
Wooly
ARD can kinda loose control over its own preferences and plist files. You might want to delete them from your admin console.
For example, I had one particular machine that never allowed full ARD controls, only VNC. I changed laptops and suddenly that one machine was a full ARD client again.
Also, make sure that all the setup is done on your son's machine. Remember, in System Preferences in the client, you setup, feature by feature, privs for the accounts available.
Just a few places to start.
