Knowledge Level: Intermediate

Problem: Software
Computer Type: HewlittPackard
Model: Deskwriter 560C
RAM: 32meg
RAM Enhancer: None
OS Version: MacOS 8.1

Description:
My connection to my DeskWriter 560C is through AppleTalk. When I attempt to choose (Chooser) DW Series 6.04(AT) it will not add it to the printer list. I am able to select DW Series 6.04, and other printers. The only printer I am unable to select is the AppleTalk printer.

Have upgraded to 6.04 today (thinking that the 6.03 version might be the problem. I think the initial problem was noted with my upgrade from System 8.0 to 8.1, but I can't remember for sure. The connection had worked perfectly for a long time, but now will not work. I have since upgraded to 8.5, and that has not corrected the problem.

I have disabled all extensions not required for my AppleTalk connection and that has not solved the problem.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

Hi welcome to Nowonder

Will give you a couple of suggestions to try. Go into the extension manager and make sure the Desktop Monitor and Desktop Printer Spooler are unchecked also the QuickDraw GX. Then go into your Apple Talk and set it to remote only. See if that will help. best regards sharona@nowonder
