All of a sudden, applications involving sound or video (itunes, quicktime, final cut pro HD) have stopped opening on my G5.
This seemed to come from nowhere, and all programs are legit registered copies.
Any suggestions?

Jon,
My name is Cheryl and I will be assisting you. Have you installed anything lately just before this happened?
Have you repaired permissions? Go to the Utilities folder (in Applications) and start up Disk Utility.
When that opens, click on the second icon at the top left, then click on Repair Permissions. The repair disk button will be grayed out.
Once done, quit Disk utility and do the following:
Open Audio MIDI Setup (/Applications/Utilities/), then check the Audio Output setting.
Change the Audio Output setting to 44100.0 Hz.
Quit Audio MIDI Setup.
Now give the apps a try out.

Hi Cheryl,
Repairing permissions was my first stop, and didn;t work when used on the Macintosh HD volume, but when applied later on to the whole root drive, it seemed to clear up the issue...
Thanks for the response,
Jon.
