Description:
When I put a cd in to listen to music, a window comes up and says "This disk is unreadable by this Macintosh. Do you want to initialize the disk?"

Hi Gary and welcome to No Wonder!

Make sure you have all the files below in your extensions folder:
Apple CD/DVD Driver or Apple CD-ROM
Audio CD Access
Foreign File Access
High Sierra File Access

It is likely that the Audio CD Access file is missing and is in the Extensions (disabled) folder, if it is, move it back to the Extensions folder.
