Description:
When I try to connect the audio output from my computer to the CD port in an audio reciever to send the sound through stereo loudspeakers, there is a great deal of hissing in the speakers. This disappears only when I unplug the jacks running from a VCR into the aux. input socket in the receiver. Can this be corrected?

hi, norman. im gary.

you may be encountering the sound problems that have plagued many a clone and even some mac users. there have been several computers produced over that past several years that have the "hiss" problem you describe. its a hardware problem.

i would suggest you take the box into your local apple dealer/tech rep for diagnostics and repair.
