TICKET ARCHIVE -> Backing Up Iphoto Library

I'd like to back up my iphoto library to an external drive. Iphoto help is no help here. I dragged the library to the external drive, but cannot open it from there. Did I do something wrong?

Let me try and help you.
ok, open the following folder:
HD/Users/YOU/Photos
Locate the iPhoto folder and drag that to the external drive.
In order to access the photos on the external drive, do 1 of the following:
1) Drag that folder back to the HD/Users/USERNAME/Photos, then relaunch iPhoto ( WARNING, Doing this will overwrite any existing or new photos in the user you do this to. )
2) From iTunes, File Menu, Choose Import
Navigate to the external HD and the iPhoto folder you backed up, and import the photos.
