Description:
Is backup software such as Retrospect really needed? Isn't it just as good to do a 'select all' on your hard drive and just drag the entire contents over to be copied to the backup hard drive?

Thanks.

Scott

Hi Scott and welcome to No Wonder!

You can do it this way...but it takes time.

Retrospect has the option to only backup *changed* files rather than every single file.
If you think about it, in normal circumstances only about 10% of files change - your applications never change, nor does the majority of your System Folder.

Retrospect makes it easier and faster to backup files....and I do not work for them...just a satisfied customer!

Cheers
