my intel mini (2006) 10.5.2 has frozen at startup since i followed apple's recommendation a few days ago and performed a graphics update. i had no problems installing leopard last year. recently i installed a massive update to fix various bugs i.e. from 10.5.1 to 10.5.2. that worked ok. the blue screen arrived the next time i tried to boot up after the graphics update.

i get the chime, the grey screen with apple, then blue: mouse cursor comes and goes; sometimes I get a few seconds of spinning cogwheel, followed by neverending blue. i have even left it on overnight. i was going to try an archive and reinstall, but the mini has swallowed my leopard disc.

i have browsed the apple forums and have noted many people having similar problems, but can't get a solution because none of the usually recommended answers will work. i have tried booting up and holding down the c key, command and s, shift key, and i have tried to zap my pram. i have tried a target mode startup using my imac g5 (which has coped with everything from panther onwards without any problems), but that had no effect. basically, holding keys at start up makes no visible difference at all.

i am not running anything complicated on the mini. it is used almost entirely for writing in ms word (office 2004 for mac) and the internet. i install very little extras on it. i have not installed the app. enhancer that caused many people to freeze up when leopard first came out, and none of apple's recommended ways of dealing with it from last november (?) work for me for reasons started above.
i have absolutely no idea what to do next. i am not particularly knowledgeable about the tech. side of things. Any advice apart from get a hammer -- and it might come to that -- will be very gratefully received.

thanks, ploughboy
