I have a bluetooth enabled mobile phone (VK2020) which I'd like to sync with my iCal and Address Book.
As I don't have a data cable, I tried syncing using bluetooth. Unfortunately, my Mac provides a 8-digit passkey for pairing with the mobile. However, VK2020 accepts only 4 digits, not more! This means, of course, that I cannot pair the two.
Any ideas/suggestions? Is there a setting on Mac for the length of the passkey? Or something else I could try?
Thanks in advance.
Marko
Dear Marko1473:
Thanks for visiting Macosx.com, i hope i am able to assist you with your bluetooth issue.
So far there has been successul pairing with your phone, vk2020, and the G5, iBook G4 running os x 10.4.6 using bluetooth.
The trick was to not to use apple's bluetooth set-up assistant to make the first pairing. This fails since the set-up assistant asks the phone for a 8 digit passkey, while the phone only allows 4 digits in the passkey field.
Instead try and use the shareware program iStumbler which allows you to pick which ever passkey you wish.

Once the vk2020 is paired, then you can use apple's own bluetooth file exchange app to swap files (music, images, etc). You can also use apple's addressbook to swap vcards (sorry, no phone dialing or sms composer).
unfortunately, however, isync will still not work.
Hope this helps.
Good luck.
