Description:
I am not really having a problem per say, but rather I have a question. I am starting a small business which is a bicycle repair shop, and am wondering about book keeping. I have FileMaker Pro 4.0 and am trying to decide if I should purchase Quickbooks Pro. I will be needing to have a customer database and repair history as well as a way to keep track of my expenses and income. Does Quickbooks have this capacity, or if not where is a good website or newsgroup for Filemaker Pro solutions? I plan on using my Mac for keeping all of my records. Thank you. Marston

If you are comfortable in FM 4.0, it is the only way to go because you can build your program to your exact specs. The FM CD has many template & example files that may already take care of your needs. Quickbooks is good, except that Intuit has already announced that there will be NO more updates for quickbooks for the Mac, but it will continue to grow on the Win95 version. MYOB is a good choice as well, but none of the prepackage products may meet all your needs.
There are many good web pages for FM. go to any search engine and type in FileMaker and take it from there.
