Mac OS 1.4.6
Browser Safari 203
In the Bookmark menu the following appears:
Show All Bookmarks
Add Bookmark. .. . .
Add Bookmark Folder
Below this I get about two pages of
"Yellowstone National Park..Contact Us....."
Why is this here??? How did it get here? How do I get rid of it???

Select the folders/bookmarks you want to delete, then control-click (right-click) on them and choose "Delete."

The only way the folders got there is if you or another Safari user put them there. Do other folks have access to your computer?

HTH and please let us know what happens. Thanks.

No, no, no. I control click on the folders and get nothing but a return to the web page that are accessed with this URL.

I still have two pages of Yellowstone National Park Contact Us items in my bookmarks. There is no way to delete them. It looks like someone got stuck inside the internet and did not get this web page shut off quick enough. A whole string of the URL's and no way to get rid of them. No one else has control of this computer.

I solved the problem above like this. I went to help on my tool bar; typed in (bookmark delete) and this is what I was told to do:

"To organize the bookmarks in the menu, choose Show All Bookmarks from the Bookmarks menu, then click Bookmarks Menu. Drag items up or down to arrange them. Select an item and press Delete to remove it. "

This is along the lines you were speaking of, but did not get quite right. Thank you for being there, trying to help me. It was just one of those moment of not knowing what to do.

Well, control-click or right click works for me as well as using the delete key. Maybe I've got a little different version of the OS, additional prefpanes etc. You'll see it in August.
