I just got the new OS X Leopard, and installed boot camp along with it. I try to open boot camp, however an error message comes up saying "This mac does not support boot camp". I have an imac G5, which is rather new. I can therefore not imagine why boot camp is not supported. Any help on the issue please?
Boot camp only works on Macs with a Intel based Processor. These would be essentially the mac pro, the macbook and macbook pro, and the Intel Imacs.
The Imac G5 is the last in the line of Imacs that had a PowerPC processor. Since it does not have a Intel Processor it will not work.
Thank you for the answer. However, i would really like running windows on my computer. Is there any other possible free way to run Windows on my computer?
You could use an emulator to install windows into a emulated machine.
The only free one I know of is Bochs, however it can be a bit hard to get working (I haven't really used it much though)
I have used Microsoft VirtualPC for Mac in the past, it is a bit slow in my opinion however depending on what you are doing this may work fine.
There is also a emulator that is fairly cheap called iemulator

I have never used it but it is certainly cheaper than VirtualPC.
The short of it is that since you have a PowerPC based mac there is noway to natively run Windows on your mac you have to get emulation software and install windows in the emulated machine.
