On boot up, it runs memory test, then asks to go to setup, then screen flashes, and reads insert boot disk and press any key. Will CD ROM driver for Compaq portable have a boot up disk?

WElcome to our NoWonder. Well sometimes CD-Rom drivers are bootable and sometimes not. What you can do is just get a bootup disk from dos or from a friends win95 and then boot up with that.
