I need to access a website that only supports internet Explorer 6.0 or better. One of my Macs has IE 5.2 - can it be upgraded to 6.0? How? I only see version 7.0 online and it doesn't look like that works on Macs at all. My preferred browser is Firefox, so I don't want to change any default settings. Thanks.

No newer versions of IE for Mac than 5.2. However, you can set Safari to report to Web sites that it is a different browser. Recommend updating it first to version 3.1, released today. Then, in the Advanced pane of Safari Preferences, choose Show Develop menu in menubar. In the Develop menu, you can select a different browser as "User Agent."

Thakns for the idea -- I tried the User Agent switch (using Firefox) but still could not read the webpage. I think I'll just borrow a PC somewhere and look up the site.

Before you give up and switch to a PC, can you share the site with me so I can investigate?

Somehow, you've already provided feedback on my responses to your question but it's still open. Do you have an update? Were you successful in a different way?
