Pinkchiquita, welcome to macosx.com

As you speak about DvdShrink, I guess you want to rip DVDs. Right ?
So there is not tool as powerfull as DvdShrink on Mac...but, these are some of my receipts..using:

MTR: MacThe ripper ; http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/22715
PopCorn; www.roxio.com
DVDImager; http://lonestar.utsa.edu/llee/apples...dvdimager.html

------------------------- the free solution
you can use MacTheRipper for ripping the DVD and DVDImager for burning:
-------------------------

MTR

1) Launch MTR and first go to the File menu and indicates the location where MTR must save its decoded stuff
This location will appear in the"SAVE LOCATION" filed of MTR's main window
2) Now in the bottom of MTR window:
- if you have "DISC RCE : -CLEAR-", all is ok; let the "RCE Region" on "OFF".
- if you have "DISC RCE : -DETECTED-", then you MUST indicate in the "RCE Region" field the DVD region which is written on the DVD case;
if for instance 'Europe', set "RCE 2" ; if 'USA', set "RCE 1"
3) Do not touch to the "New Region"field ! (
4) Now click on "Mode" and select the appropriate option for extracting: "Full Disc Extraction", "Main Title". Some options allow you to suppress foreign soundtracks, subtitles: see MTR help
5) Click on "Go" and let MTR does its job
MTR creates in the folder referenced under "Save location" a VIDEO_TS folder
!! the size of this folder must fit the limit size of the DVD-R you plan to burn

Burning the DVD

The freeware DVDImager will create a burnable image of the contents of the VIDEO_TS folder.
Even if DVDImager is able to clone a full DVD, DVDImager cannot handle protected DVDs
Or one can use the burn facility of DiskUtility to burn our job onto a blank DVD

---------------------------the shareware solution
you can use MacTheRipper for ripping the DVD and PopCornfor burning:
---------------------------

3) Do not touch to the "New Region"field ! (
4) Now click on "Mode" and select "Full Disc Extraction"
5) Click on "Go" and let MTR does its job

MTR creates in the folder referenced under "Save location" a VIDEO_TS folder

PopCorn

1) Launch Popcorn and drag the VIDEO_TS folder into the PopCorn window
2) Click on the "Options" button and select/unselect the title, soundtracks, subtitles you want to keep or not
3) Burn

The avantage of the PopCorn shareware:

* you do not have to pre-select in MTR what you want to extract: you extract everything and let PopCorn presents you the options for selecting soundtrack,..
* Popcorn compress the video to fit in the valid range of the DVD you want to burn: DVDImager needs before running that the VIDEO_TS file is under the size limit

Note that Toast 7, the "Nero" guy on the mac platform can also do what PopCorn does (well same Roxio.com editor)

Is this helpfull ?
Regards
Philippe
