I own a Canon Powershot S50. Aperture 1.1 only sees jpg's, in fact when I import RAW files the upper screen becomes red and says Unsupported

dear bobw,
thank you for your reply.
so this page http://www.apple.com/macosx/upgrade/cameras.html only lists general supported cameras, unfortunately...

what about this:

should I change the raw.plist through terminal, or just textedit? never done before, so I need some good hint.

Alessandra,
You would probably be better off changing the raw.plist through terminal, and then trying to use the camera through aperature.
As an alternative, if you've purchased your mac within the last year, it should have a free copy of graphic converter, which allows you to simply change the extention of images without compromising the quality of the pictures. If your mac does not have it, you can get it online at www.lemkesoftware.de, or just google search "Graphic Converter"

All my best,
Max

Ill stick this back in the pool, maybe someone can help you better than I can, but I would try changing the raw.plist through terminals command prompt, and not textedit.
If that fails, try a free trial of graphic converter!

All my best,
