When I try to send a message from my Apple e-mail account I get the following messaged:The server “smtp:mail.bresnan.net” cannot be contacted on port 25.

Can you tell me what port I should be using. Thankyou

Hi John

Change the port used to send mail.
The .Mac outgoing mail server (smtp.mac.com) also accepts mail on port 587. If you're using Mail in Mac OS X, follow these steps:

From the Mail menu, choose Preferences.
Choose Accounts.
Select your .Mac account in the list on the left.
Click the Server Settings button towards the lower right side of the window.
In the Server Port field of the new window, delete the number 25 and replace it with the number 587.
