TICKET ARCHIVE -> can't dial up

Computer Type: Apple
Model: Macintosh 520c
RAM: 12meg
RAM Enhancer: None
OS Version: System 7.5.3

Description:
Error message: "The serial port that was selected to be used by PPP seems to be in use by something else."

Steps already taken:
Made sure AppleTalk is inactive
Used Extensions Manager to restart with only System 7.5.3 active

Peripherals connected:
HP DeskWriter 320
external CD-ROM using FWB driver software

Dear Ned,

Have you tried to select the connection to your printer via printer port in the Chooser? Have you got any fax software, or another extension, which is using your modem? Otherwise reinstall PPP or install FreePPP, a very god program indeed.
