I have an iMac with OSX Tiger installed. I have purchased OSX Leopard but I have moved after buying it. In the process of moving I have lost the installation CD for Leopard. I had backed the CD up on a USB Flash drive though. When I try to update to Leopard from this flash drive, after clicking on the restart the computer icon to begin the installation of Leopard, the computer restarts but then nothing happens.

Is it possible to install Leopard that I have installed on a USB connected drive on the iMac?

PowerPC Macs don't support booting from USB devices. So, the only conceivable way to do this (besides finding your lost installation disc) is to connect your flash drive to another Mac, connect your iMac to that Mac via FireWire and put it in target disk mode, and run the install manually by navigating to /System/Installation/Packages on the flash drive and opening OSInstall.mpkg.

That's got to be a monster of a flash drive to hold all 6.5 GB of Leopard.
