TICKET ARCHIVE -> can't open quicken 5

Description:
When I try to open quicken 5 from my launcher as I have daily for a year I get a window telling me to
choose a quicken file but it still won't open when chosen.
The menu bar for quicken appears but is all grey. The files are still in my hard drive, but I can't access them from there either. Help?

try dumping the Quicken 5 Prefs file from the preferences folder in the system folder. restart the computer and then try to open the quicken file (not the application) directly from the hard drive and NOT from the launcher. what happens?
