- PowerMac G5 with OS 10.5.2
- Using "M.S. Word for Mac" 2004

In a long document (>200 pages) I'm trying to set up an internal hyperlink from a table of contents entry to a specific heading within the document. I've done it before using a different Mac, different OS and different version of Word, but can't make it work now.

Any hint of what might be the problem would be appreciated.

Additional information:

In order to check if there is a problem with the application, I tried the following experiment:

1. Opened a new document.
2. On each of the two pages of the document, I typed a different word.
3. I inserted a Bookmark at the beginning of the word on Page 2.
4. For the word on Page 1, I created a hyperlink to the bookmark on Page 2.
5. I "saved" the document.
6. When I then clicked on the word on Page 1, the cursor flipped to the word on Page 2 -- just as intended.

So, here are two documents created on the same computer, using the same application. One works fine, the other doesn't.

The only real difference between the documents is that the one that works is 2 pages long, the other 196 pages.

Any ideas?
