Although your drivers are included with OS X 10.5, both of the Canon pro 9000 drivers for OS X 10.5 have been updated. This link should get you to the Canon download page.

i tried the web site several times but i says "having technical difficulties." i have tried the canon tech support for updated downloads and it says there are no new downloads available.

Do you have any problems with other types of downloads?
I don't know what's going on with your internet connection. That link above works, and I just downloaded several items from that page. Click the "select OS" drop-down, and choose OS X. You will then see the listing of OS X downloads. there are several from late 2007, and some from 2008. You can download all of those. I just did. You may need to do one at a time. Wait for each to finish before beginning another... Should work...

i was finally able to download the driver but it still won't let me add the printer to the printer list. how do i know if the download was successful?

also, if i try to open the driver i get a "sorry, the expander will not work w/o the stuffit engine. please re-install w/ the original installer.
DeltaMac - Mar 26, 2008 - 6:23 am
OK, the downloaded driver needs to be expanded. and I think your Stuffit software needs to be reinstalled, also.
A better choice is to download 'The Unarchiver'
http://wakaba.c3.cx/s/apps/unarchiver.html
Run that software, and make sure that the box is checked for '.sit or .sitx' files.
Control or right-click on the Canon software that you downloaded, and choose 'The Unarchiver' from the 'Open with...' part of the drop-down menu. Open the resulting file (might be a .dmg), and you should have the installer, which you should then open, and (hopefully) you should be able to add your printer.
Let me know how it goes...

sorry, i must seem really incompetent. i downloaded 'the unarchiver' but can't open it, getting the same response that expander will not work w/o the stuffit engine.
DeltaMac - Apr 1, 2008 - 6:48 am
OK, the file that you downloaded would be TheUnarchiver1.6.1.zip
So, right- (or control-) click on that file, and choose Archive Utility from the Open With drop-down list. You will then still have that same file, and another - just The Unarchiver. Trash the .zip file, as you are done with that. Double-click that UnArchiver, and make sure that the item for .sit and .sitx is checked. You will see it in the list.
Now, here's what you do with the Canon installer to get it to expand.
Do not double-click on that Canon download, but drag it to the icon for TheUnarchiver, and drop it on top of that icon. That will force TheUnarchiver to open that Canon file. Double-click the resulting Canon file, and follow the instructions to complete the install. You will then need to add the printer in the normal way, through your Print & Fax preference pane.
Let me know if this helps you...
