Description:
I recently installed OS 8, and after 5 days of progressively worsening problems, my hard drive crashed. Fortunately, I had purchased and extended warranty, and now have a 2.4 GIG hard drive on my Permorma 6300CD. Also, I had backed everything up before installing OS 8, so all I lost was about a week's worth of e-mail, except for one thing.
Now to my problem. When I got the new hard drive back, I reinstalled all of my original software, which included Quicken 5, which I never used. I remove it, along with the other old programs that I never/no longer used, then reinstalled the OS 8. I then started reinstalling the other software I had on this computer, including Quicken 6. All installations went fine with no glitches, until I tried to put my Quicken data back into the Quicken program. I get a message that tells me that the "resource map is damaged. Don't worry, Quicken will repair it."
When I click OK, however, I get a message telling me that it cannot be repaired. I've tried everything I can think of to try to open the file, copy it, transfer it to a new disk, but nothing works. How can I recover my data?
