I have downloaded the appropriate driver to set up my scanner, as advised by Canon. However when I attempt to use it I get a message saying that Photoshop cannot recognise the application, or words to that effect. Can you help?
Thank you, Diana

If you downloaded the installer from Canon. then you have a file that ends in the extension .sit ?
You will need to also download and install the Stuffit Expander from this link.

Then you will be able to install the Canon driver.

Keep in mind that you may not get that old driver to work with your iMac - because of the Intel processor. You will likely find out that the driver needs to be updated to a Universal/Intel version.

If you can't get the Canon software to work, here's a possible alternate
