Hello Macosx. Haven't been here in a while, I hope you guys are well.
I would like very much the ability to record/render as audio Apple's Voice Over utility. In other words, the audio of the Voice Over Utility. I have an application called Audio Hijack Pro, which I've read will record any audio coming from your Mac. But as yet I am unsuccessful. Once I get the audio captured, I can import it into Logic Pro 7. Please help!
Thanks very much.

I'm going to dig a little deeper into what you are wanting if you don't mind.
What part of the audio do you want from Apple's Voice Over utility. You want to capture the interaction between the person and the computer, both sides? Or just one side?

Hi Scott. No, i don't mind. Nope, just need the "output" of Apple's computer voice. So if i type, red blue green, "Fred" says "Red blue green" in his computer voice. Then I have that as audio, like any audio file.
I do sound and music production.
Thanks for writing back! I'm hoping to find a solution here.

I did this the other day and it worked.
Using Audio Hijack, I selected "Text Edit" as the selected application. I then launched TextEdit and typed in what I wanted the computer to say. Then I chose the "Speak" option in Text Edit. It spoke and I got the recording via Audio Hijack.
Hope it works as easily for you.

Okay, thank you, I got that working. My problem now though, is that Text Edit only speaks with a given female voice. I need to use a number of the different voices Mac OS offers in the Voice Over utility. I tried changing the voice in that utility, then restarting text edit and audio hijack... but i think Text Edit is set to speak only in one voice.
Is there a way to either change Text Edit's voice, or better yet, set Audio Hijack to record whatever is going on...? So that when I change a voice in Voice Over utility, it records the audio from the new voice.
Could I drag the Finder as an application into Audio Hijack's menu, for example? That would mean Finder's voice would get recorded. Thanks so much.
Thanks very much for your help.

Whatever voice is selected in System Preferences -> Speech -> Text to Speech is what TextEdit uses. It *may* require relaunching TextEdit for the changes to take effect. I had it where one time it required it, but other times not.
