I burned a HP CD-R on my Dell PC at work and when I put it in my Mac at home it appears as "UDFREADER" and none of the info is on the disc! I used the Roxio software at work on the PC. Do I need to load Roxio here on my Mac in order to read it?

PS: the following icons appeared on the disc:

Autorun.inf
UdfrChk.exe
udfrinst.zl

Thanks,

Sam

Sam,

It sounds like you did not "close" the session or the whole disk once you had completed the burn. If not, then it is not ready to be read by other systems.

Put the disc back into the PC and there should be an option to close the session. A CD-R is write once, so you will close the disc in the same process, i.e. not be able to write to it again.

Thanks. I'll try that. In the mean time I went ahead and bought Roxio Toast 7 since I had no other CD burning software.

You might get lucky if you have already installed Roxio on the Mac as it might now be able to recognise an unfinshed CD.

Out of interest, what Mac & OS are you running?
