I just found a very nice font. I want to change many Word files to this font. Is there a way of doing this as a group? Using Word 2004.

If you used styles in your documents you might be able to:
http://www.microsoft.com/mac/otherpr...out_styles.xml
And if the new font doesn't load you may have to put it in the Microsoft fonts folder.
How do you manage your fonts? I recommend getting the free Linotype FontExplorer:

DON'T use FontBook.

The font is actually built in to OS X. And no, I didn't change or choose any particular style setting. It would be nice to just highlight a bunch of .doc files and change all the fonts and sizes to the default.

There are apps for the pc for this, but I didn't find any for the mac.
FontExplorer manages system fonts as well as user fonts.

So by manage does that mean I can change the font of a document without opeing it?

No. FontExplorer manages fonts for you so you can choose them when you have a document open.
Like I said, I haven't found a tool to globally change your word docs for the mac. They do exist for the pc, however.
If you had used styles in your documents you could easily change them that way, but you'd have to do it one doc at a time.
You can use macros to accomplish the task. Possible answer here:
