Hi

I am trying to change the default PDF viewer that Safari uses to view PDF's. Currently PDF's downloaded from the web open in Preview automatically. I need PDF's to automatically open in Acrobat.

System is running MacOS X 10.4.5 and Safari 2.0.3.

If I double-click a PDF within the Finder, it opens automatically with Acrobat (I checked that first :-)

Another thing to consider - it is not limited to one version of OS either - I have come across this problem on other Mac's too, ranging from 10.3.x to 10.4.5.

I hope somebody out there has some information on how to fix this as I am at a loss now...

Thanking you in advance for your assistance.

Kind Regards
Paolo

Hi Paolo

Highlight one of the PDF's.
Command-I on it, or Get Info under the File Menu.

Go down to 'Opwn With'
Change to Acrobat, then click Change All.

All PDF's should now open in Acrobat.

Hi Paolo

Sorry, guess I mis understood you.

Install the latest version (7.0) of Adobe Reader, known in a past life as Acrobat Reader, and it will also install a Safari plugin that enables you to view PDF files directly in a Safari web browser window
