Its sheer frustration trying to chat with a Mac. I'm on Yahoo Messenger and I can't even do a voice chat. Where is voice chat?

Is there any mac friendly chat software that interfaces with Yahoo Messenger (with voice chat) and MSN Messenger?

Unfortunately, most companies that make chat software don't make it do video/audio chat on the Mac. aMSN does video and audio chat with other MSN users.

From what I can find, the Yahoo Mac client does support audio chat.

If you are open to other chat clients, iChat connects to the AOL network and is probably the best one for video chat if you can use it. Skype does audio chat as well and is cross platform.

Skype can talk to MSN and Yahoo?

I need something that interfaces with both Yahoo and MSN. HOpefully with video.

No, as I said if you are willing to switch to Skype just for when you need to do audio chat it's a lot easier. But all the programs that do multiple protocols don't support video.

AMSN does video but is only for MSN, but there are programs like Adium or Fire that work with those protocols and more but don't do the video or audio.

The best thing you can do is try and use iChat and get people to get an AOL IM account because iChat is by far the best video chat software for OS X. But it's hard to get thick headed people to change their IM software, I know. I think the best thing to do is if you can get people to get the (free) AOL IM account and use the AOL client on the PC or some other client that supports it on there, then you can have them fire that up when you need to do video chat.

If you really want to use it, there aren't that many options because most of the companies don't put any time into their Mac software.

All the people I run into are on MSN or Yahoo. What do you recommend for something that does video and interfaces with those 2 programs?

As I said, there aren't any programs that have support for those 2 protocols that also do video chat.
