Short story: We can send but not recieve email using claris emailer lite.
Long story: The computer crashed. My son, John, was able to get everything up and running except email. Even after a day of "no computer games until we have email" we still had no email until the mail brought MacHome, which had the answer to our problem. At last we were able to send messages to the Coast Guard Cutter Polar Sea, somewhere north of Nome, Alaska using Claris emailer. Still no luck recieving messages, we have to use something else which requires a game related password that is a nuisance for me (the mother) to use. If you want to encourage a computer whiz wannabe, give John a pat on the back for getting us back in business. If you want to make me happy, tell John how to get Claris emailer lite to receive incoming email and If you like compliments, stand by... Thank you MacHome for having the right information in your fine magazine (which I don't read, but the boys sure do) and enabling us to stay in touch with my husband. Sincerely, Jane Van Atta
PS If you are planning a trip to Alaska, be sure to get to Kodiak. If you get to Kodiak, be sure to head out the road to Chiniak and stop in at The Raven's Nest.

My name is Cheryl and I will be helping you. Did John reinstall ClarisEmailer lite? Then re set your particulars. And trash the Claris Emailer preferences in the Preference folder in the system folder. Make sure you have set the email address, password and the correct pop.
After a bad crash, you should run Norton Utilities or TechTool Pro 2 and let the disk doctor fix all the problems it finds.
