Model: Performa 6290CD
RAM: 32meg
RAM Enhancer: None
OS Version: MacOS 8.1
Description:
Started having freezes after months troublefree on OS 8.Upgraded to OS8.1 to eliminate the problems. Did clean install and then reinstalled 3rd party software thinking I would clean things up. In process I lost several things: Spelling checker in ClarisWorks and a couple other parts of software. I want to go back to "PerformaCD" disk to clean install all the basic software and upgrade only the programs I really use. Question: what do I do BEFORE reinstallling to save the calendar I keep in Claris Organizer, the accounts in Quicken, the bookmarks in Netscape communicator, the eMail addresses in Eudora, etc.
Basically I want to go back to basics and just improve (upgrade) the stuff I really use and eliminate all the gimmacky programs that I never use. Thanks for your help.

Just do your clean install and all the settings for Net.,Eudora, Quicken, etc will be in your preference folder in you "old system folder". Just drag them to your preference folder in the "new system folder". Go here for info on a clean install.
