Second problem: I cannot send an image by email. How does one send an image to one who uses a PC computer? What format should I use? I usually prepare the images in Photoshop 3.0.5 and saved them to a floppy.
Send Attachments? Yes
Jim,
Well, crashes while using Netscape Communicator are not exactly news.
However, the current version of Communicator is 4.04.1 and it does work better
than the 4.0 version. If you avoid web sites that use Java it seems to help
stabilize Communicator. You can also disable Java, but then sites that require
Java stop working at all. There is really no good solution to this right
now.
Sending an image attached to a email message should not pose any problem.
Both the Macintosh and MicroSoft systems have good support for most of the
popular compression techniques. The best is probably jpeg and after that GIF.
Both are supported directly by Netscape Communicator and Internet Explorer.
Thereby not requiring any external program to support the images. For working
with an image on the Macintosh I usually recommend the shareware program
GraphicConverter. GraphicConverter supports almost all know image formats in
use today and has many built in tools for working with images. All for the
modest fee of about $40.00. See the following URL:

Anyway, when you are in the send message dialog box (using Netscape) at the top
of the window is a paper clip icon labeled "Attach." Click on the paper clip icon
and use the resulting dialog box to locate the image you wish to send. select
Attach and send your mail.
Good Luck,
Mark Nettleingham
