TICKET ARCHIVE -> Compressing to fit on DVD-R

I am trying to burn my movie onto a DVD-R but when the DVD is formatted it only holds approx 4.3GB and I can't get my movie down to less than 4.6GB. Do you have any suggestions how to compress further. I note you say a DVD-R holds 4.7GB but that is unformatted? Please give me any advice you might have. I'm using Mac the Ripper and Toast. Toast7, in its Video Tab have a "fit-to-DVDr compression toggle" which allow you to compress the VIDEO_TS folder MTR has ripped to fin on a 4.6GB
I do not know if Toast 6 has this feature because at this time, I was using the chain MTR->Popcorn and Pocorn had this "fit to dvdr". Now PopCorn is included in Toast 7
Toast 5 has not this capability
