What preferences (plist) can you trash to eliminate startup problems? The menu bar starts to draw under the Spotlight icon, about 1/2" and then he computer freezes. The rest of the menu bar is missing but the Dock and the spinning beach ball is there. I threw away: com.apple.finder.plist, com.apple.LaunchServices.plist and com.apple.loginwindow.plist from ~/username/library/preferences. This helped but what I am looking for is there a list of preferences we could make up to clean house, so to speak, to help the OS rebuild the startup prefs.

Russ,

Can you tell me exactly what are the startup problems? What happens when you start up the MacBook?

Knowing this will help determine what preferences may be causing the problem.
