Whats the difference between files in Macintosh HD (Computer) and Home?
There seem to be 2 copies of my music files in both these places. Which ones can I delete?

John, welcome on macosx.com
Macintosh HD is the top high level of your machine.
it contains
* the system and the system Library
* the Applications folder
* the Users folder which contain an entry to the Home folder of each user of the machines; so all the Home folder of all the accounts on your machine is located under the Users folder
The Home folder is the entry point of all your data: documents, music,..
In the Finder window, select the Music icon on the left pane; then select from the toolbar File > Get Information
You'll see, in the newly opened Information window, under the general chapter, the path of you Music folder: surely something like "/Users/
which means that your Music folder is located in the Users directory, the lattest one located in the top level ("/") of your hard disk
So
* going to Macintosh HD ->Users -> your_name -> Music
* or double-clicking on the Music icon in the left pane of a Finder window
drives you the same physical place
That's why, we said that your Music icon is an alias of the "/Users/Your_name/Music" folder
Then, there is no duplicated Music folder: it is the same folder, but you go to it by two different ways
Hope this helps
Regards
Philippe
