I am hoping you can help. My system 10 mac started having problems with Suitcase XI. I reinstalled a few times and then I tried to run norton. Norton found a major error but couldn't fix it. So I tried to correct it by starting in system 9 and then it wouldn't fix it there either. Ran disk first aid, also wouldn't fix. When I tried to restart in system 10, it wouldn't. FYI, I had 2 suitcase programs on my mac, one for 9 and one for 10.

Any input would be most helpful.

Thank you!

You don't want to use any part of Norton on System 10.x; it causes huge problems. Suitcase has also caused problems in System 10.x

At this point, I would run Disk Utility off of your install disk (boot up with your install disk) to repair the disk and repair permissions. If that doesn't help, I would buy Diskwarrior (it comes with its own bootable CD) and try to repair the directory. If that also doesn't work, an archive/install (do NOT save user preferences) would be the best choice. Also, download the Norton uninstaller from their web site and get rid of every bit of Norton.

HTH and please let us know what happens. Thanks.
