I am happy with my MacBook Pro which I run Parallels / Windows XP to access my companies mailserver with MS Outlook from a home office. Although I enjoy being able to minimize my Windows Outlook and work mostly in OSX, I am now wondering if I need to use Bootcamp in order to connect my Windows Mobile 5.0 phone to my MacBookPro (running XP)? XP does not detect the phone even when using the USB cable (I knew the bluetooth was unsupported). Any suggestions?

Hello Tyler,
I am just wondering about what model your phone is, I have a cingular 8125 and I cannot connect in via USB in parallels either. The problem for me was because of the way parallels handles USB. I would suggest that you contact parallels' support to further assist you with this problem.

I have a T-Mobile MDA. It's not clear to me who the manufacturer is, although I have noticed similarities to a PDA phone made for Cingular as well (it's got a keyboard that slides out from the bottom). I will try Parallels support as you suggested. Thanks.

Tyler,
The tmobile MDA and the Cingular 8125 are basically the same phone (Same processor and specs). I would definitely suggest contacting parallels for more support with this issue. But to answer your question with my experience, I just installed bootcamp and it worked fine, however it may work fine in parallels once you talk to their support and ask them.
